all souled out

starting over is hard to do. it's why we don't end relationships. it's why we don't like to change. it's why i'm still here. it's why endeavors never get off the ground. it takes all we've got to get them going; there's nothing left to keep them going. it's why i'm writing this now instead of starting anew. it's why i never do the things i wish i could do.

but change is where the interesting, important things happen.

now that i look at it, it seems pretty obvious. who really wants to do the grunt work? but no amount of inspiration is any good without all the hard work that leads up to the inspired moment, and it's worthless without all the hard work that is needed to realize dreams and ambitions.

in other words, my ideas won't be any good if i don't actually sit down and do something with them. that's the hard part, and it's a lot harder than just sitting here writing about it.
